Elizabeth “Jerry” Odom Jones, 88, of Littleton, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Elizabeth Glover Odom. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Jones, Jr. and her two sons, Jimmy Jones and Rick Jones.

Born and raised in East Texas, Jerry moved to Littleton, NC with her husband W.C. "Billy" Jones, Jr. in 1962. Dedicated to her faith, Jerry became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shortly after arriving in NC, and remains a faithful servant of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her 18-month humanitarian mission to Vietnam for her church was one of the highlights of her life. Jerry became active in many civic organizations including The Littleton Women's Club and The Littleton Lion's Club, serving in many capacities including President and remaining active until her health would not allow. She served on numerous Boards of Directors in the area including McPherson Beverages, Inc., BB&T Bank, Lakeland Theatre, and others. Helping to establish the Littleton Library in honor of her husband, W.C. Jones, Jr., was one of her proudest accomplishments. She had a love and talent for the game of Bridge and participated in several clubs in the area. Jerry was in her element cooking and entertaining in her home at Panacea Springs. She loved gardening, having an almost magical "green thumb" with a flair for orchids. She loved her family, embracing the idea that "Heaven is when you're with the ones you love", and was a blessing to all she came in contact with. She will be missed.

Jerry is survived by her sons, Ken Jones of Lufkin, TX, W.C. Jones and his wife, Holly, of Littleton, NC, Tommy Jones and his wife, Beth, of Severna Park, MD; her grandchildren, Kendra Jones of Lufkin, TX, Lauren Bailey of Lufkin, TX, Josh Platt of Lufkin, TX, Courtney Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Thomas Jones of Severna Park, MD, Jessie Jones of Morehead City, NC, Katherine Rose Jones of Severna Park, MD, Lydia Boerner of Littleton, NC, and Wesley Boerner of Littleton, NC; her brother, Jim Odom and his wife, Sallie, of Lufkin, TX; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Littleton, NC.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of “Jerry” Jones for the roof project to Lakeland Theatre, P.O. Box 130, Littleton, NC 27850.
